Most buyers choose to purchase a condo or apartment in Nai Harn – Rawai due to the residential nature and laid-back atmosphere of the area. Being on the doorstep of one of the top 10 beaches in Asia (as voted on TripAdvisor) is also a big attraction. Nai Harn and Rawai overall feel more like a village beachside community rather than a holiday resort.
The residential nature of the neighbourhood has meant that development tends to be more sporadic, as opposed to clustering around focal points. The result is that two beaches, many excellent restaurants and other facilities are spread out within an accessible 3km radius. Most visitors have transport in order to get around, in order to access all the local area has to offer.
A big plus of the Nai Harn – Rawai area is that it services an expat community and is therefore largely self-contained. Most facilities you will need are easily accessible such as shops and supermarkets, kinder gardens and schools as well as lots of restaurants – spanning a range of cuisines from around the world.
There are a range of condos and apartments to choose from close to Rawai or Nai Harn beach. The land immediately behind Nai Harn Beach cannot be built on due to zoning laws but the land just behind the lake- 500 – 700 metres from the beach – is home to a number of condo developments. Similarly, the developed area close to Rawai beach has a variety of condos and apartments and there are may beach side restaurants, bars etc nearby.
One thing to bear in mind about this area is that, due to the land being mostly flat, sea views are at a premium and generally only available from condominium apartment buildings only. From an investor point of view, this area suits buyers looking for a property for residential purposes or for tenants on longer-term rental contracts.
